In 1976 experts warned that an emerging strain of influenza, known as the "swine flu," had the potential to cause illness on a massive scale that winter. A large public immunization campaign was launched, and a photo was released showing President Ford being immunized by his physician, Dr. William Lukash 1. Interestingly, the photo shows Dr. Lukash not wearing gloves as he administers the shot, unlike standard practice today SEE BELOW.
